Start the weekend with something that will never end.
I was struck by two big phrases today. One — tagged on to the end of verses 43 and 44 of Mark chapter 12 Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she gave out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on." The widow, according to Jesus, "put in everything." I have so much to learn!!! My offerings are weak!
The second phrase that got my attention was in Mark 13:31. Jesus is still speaking ... He said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
Think about it. The words of Jesus will never pass away. On the other hand everything else will. Even heaven and earth. Every galaxy, star, moon, comet and meteor will be gone someday ... Gone. Only one thing will last. The Word. The words of Jesus will never go away. Our short little life is here and gone in a flash. We would be smart if we focused on the words of Jesus.
Today ... take a few minutes and let God's Word speak. Find something Jesus said and let it soak deep into your soul. Start the weekend with something that will never end.
